Objectives:

Understand the arguments in a discussion
Understand and comment on societal affairs
Express a complaint
Understand/write a petition/a formal letter
Express my indignation or objection
Use a past event as a cause
Reproach someone
Express or report a point of view on a controversial subject
Understand the main points of a discussion
Express reservations
Express a judgment, make recommendations, and warnings
Inform myself on/ describe an object, a novelty, or a mode of communication
Respond in a written form to an announcement / ask for more detailed information on a service
Choose a type of letter (i.e. formal, friendly etc.) and formulate it
