DELF Prim

Target audience: children (aged 8 to 12) attending elementary school

DELF Prim is the first in the DELF/DALF series of French language diplomas delivered by the French National Ministry of Education. It certifies French language skills through an internationally recognized diploma.

DELF Prim is intended for children who are beginners in French as a Second Language and who are either undertaking studies corresponding to the elementary level in France or are of the right age to undertake such studies under the regulations applicable in their country. Successful candidates receive a diploma identical to the version available to the general public.

It is composed of three individual diplomas corresponding to the initial levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

Each examination is independent, and candidates can register for the examination of their choice. Each examination evaluates the four language competencies: written comprehension, oral comprehension, written production, oral production.

The tests are built on the same model as the DELF for adults, but topics are adapted to the target audience and suitable for any school program (Introductory French, Core French or French Immersion).

An average grade of 50 out of 100 points is required to obtain the DELF Prim A1.1, A1 or A2 diplomas.

For more information about the different levels of these diplomas, visit the http://www.ciep.fr/en/index.php">CIEP website (Centre International d'Études Pédagogiques).
