Event Description

The New Gallery of the Alliance Française de Toronto will receive Julie Stephen Chheng's augmented journey for 10 days. Tanukis and Yokais, Japanese nature spirits, are scattered throughout the place. They will question the viewer and will interact with your answers, making you discover your true self. It is a fantastic bridge between two worlds, one Japanese and the other French, who share a common admiration for Nature. Working with augmented reality, Julie Stephen Chheng uses the phone as a wonderful filter on reality, thus closely blending the space in which the images are placed and the virtual universe proposed.
Initiated at Villa Kujoyama, previously shown in a reduced version at the Museum of Hunting and Nature and created for Digital Choc in Tokyo. Uramado AR invites the viewer to download an application in order to project himself into dreamlike worlds that suddenly come to life, playfully questioning our differences and our own reality.

The augmented reality tour will be visible on:

Markham campus from Dec. 6 (starting at 2 p.m.) to Dec. 16.
