Event Description

Screening of the French film Marinette (2023) by Virginie Verrier, at the Théâtre Spadina, in partnership with the French Embassy in Canada and the Institut Français.

 

Synopsis:

Marinette Pichon has had soccer under her skin from an early age. Raised by a courageous mother with a violent husband, she overcomes difficulties and forges unfailing determination. While juggling her odd jobs with her sporting career, she was selected for the French national team and then spotted by a major American club. Marinette moved to the United States with her mother, pursuing her dream of becoming the best player in the world.

Venue Information - Spadina Theatre

Created by Hariri Pontarini Architects, the Alliance Française Toronto theatre opened in the spring of 2014. Since then, more than 200 artists and events have been held there all year long, within a warm and intimate atmosphere. This 147-seat auditorium invites you to join us for musical performances of all genres, as well as film screenings, lectures, and stage plays.

Entrance to the theatre is on Lowther Avenue. The doors open 20 minutes prior to the beginning of each event.

Coat Check

Coat check is located in the basement of the Spadina Theatre and is available at no charge for every event. Alliance Française is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
