AT THE WATER’S EDGE : LYRICISM & THE BELLE ÉPOQUE
With Christina Tannous, soprano
At the water’s edge, where the heart’s secrets of burgeoning passions and lost loves flow. The evening will be a portrait of the Belle époque as portrayed by the great masters of French composition, Fauré, Debussy, Chausson and Duparc. Evocative poems magnified by delicate vocal lines and soaring lyrics. An invitation on a journey, an ode to beauty. Christina Tannous is endowed with a simultaneously radiant and velvety voice. She has been a soloist in several Canadian orchestra, including the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, the Orchestre Métropolitain, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec. Christina has also performed as a member of the cast of Les Leçons de Maria Callas au Théâtre du Rideau Vert in Montréal, as well as The Sound of Music (Sister Berthe) at the Just for Laughs Festival.
