Judith Cohen et ses invitées

Women of the world

Whether born in Canada, Europe, Asia, South America, the Middle East, Africa, or India, Judith Cohen and her musician friends have made Toronto their new home. As a continuation of International Women’s Day, come and listen to the musical treasures created by these beautiful encounters and immerse yourself in the slices of life sung by these women from all backgrounds. This evening of sharing will let you travel around the globe.

Judith Cohen is a Montreal ethnomusicologist and singer, known in Toronto for her performances of Sephardic songs in Judeo-Spanish, and other traditional songs from Portugal, the Balkans, Quebec, and Acadia. Anecdotes dating back to the Middle Ages and her travels bring to life her songs from across the ages.
