La tige et la racine
Winner of the 1st prize at the International music Festival of Granby in 2017, Pierre Guitard is a talented artist from Acadia. Originally from Madran in New Brunswick, he goes from popular singing contests to singing contests before releasing his EP La tige et la racine, mixing country folk and alternative rock. Last summer, the young composer-singer who just arrived in Montreal made his album with Jesse MacCormack (Emilie & Odgen, Melanie Boulay, Rosie Vallant) and Guillaume Chartrain (Daran, Chocolat, BV300, Shane Murphy) for his very album Tuer la bête jusqu’à dimanche, who was just released this autumn.
Polaris prize nominated bilingual duo Georgian Bay features the soaring vocal harmonies of multi-instrumentalists Joëlle Westman and Kelly Lefaive. Fearlessly fusing elements of electronic, jazz, chamber music, and pop to their folk roots, Georgian Bay’s music is uniquely Canadian, intertwining lyrics in English and French. On May 24th 2019, Georgian Bay will present their final concert, with a special trio hometown performance at Alliance Française de Toronto. Come celebrate 6 years of music with Georgian Bay!
