Molière was an observer of his epoch. However much rooted in their times, his characters carry a universal dimension. These men caught up in their bad habits yet also in their social positions, their ambitions, their cowardices, their hypocrisies, their amorous emotions... are they any different from those that we rub shoulders with today? Molière wanted to make honest people laugh.

Today we still laugh at ourselves and those like us. Were these men of the great century really much different than us? Through staging, whilst respecting Molière’s language, we will attempt to explore these dialogues in the context of our time.
