REEVALUATING TORONTO’S ALLEYWAYS
By Michelle Senayah, urban planner and designer
Toronto's 2400 lanes, located throughout our downtown and surrounding areas, are usually considered utility spaces, designated solely for service use. While this practical function is undoubtedly essential, our alleys are capable of doing much more in our growing city.
The Laneway Project is a non-profit urban planning firm dedicated to the animation of our streets through culture, commerce, recreational activities and community participation.
