In the context of “Movie Thursdays” Alliance Française offers weekly screenings of Francophones Art house movies in French with English subtitles. Imitating the cine-club concept, movies are introduced by experts: professors, journalists, directors etc.

This year our film programming includes six series:

  • Film and context
  • Film of the French-speaking world\
  • Love’s surprise
  • The cinema of filmmakers
  • The sensitive man
  • Discussing cinema

These series have been organized in partnership with: the CEFMF (Centre for the study of France and the Francophone World), the Consulate General of France in Toronto, operations director at Ubisoft Motion Pictures Iris Gardet-Hadengue, filmmaker and cinema expert Claudia Hébert, Pride Toronto and FrancoQueer.

All the screenings are free.
