Kids and Teens

Alliance Française Toronto offers French workshops and courses for children, between 1 and 17 years old. Our afterschool and weekend classes allow students to improve both their spoken and written French.

Learning a new language can be a challenge, but we make sure it's fun! In order to maintain the children's attention and progress, our classes are focused on oral comprehension. Our teaching method, however, is based on all four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

All our campuses (Toronto, Mississauga, North York, Oakville, and Markham) offer the same French programs to preschoolers, elementary students (5 to 6 years old and 7 to 10 years old), as well teenagers from 11 to 17 years old.

Is Your Child a New Student?

Non-Beginner Level

If your child is 5 years old or older, book a placement test with a teacher to evaluate their level of French.

Beginner Level

If your child has no experience in French, you may directly register in a beginner class or contact the campus nearest you.

Why Learn with Alliance Française?

Small groups

Our classes are organized in small groups (max. 12 participants in classrooms, 10 participants online). This format encourages more interaction between students and their teachers.

Oral communication

At the beginner level, our teaching method emphasizes oral communication. Grammar and written communication are introduced as students progress.

Fast learning

Students actively learn with individual and group activities, as well as role play for everyday situations.

5 campuses

All group courses are provided either online or at any of our 5 campuses in the GTA.
