DELF Junior is the second level in the DELF/DALF series of certificates awarded by the French Ministry of Education for proficiency in French as a Foreign (or Second) Language.

It certifies French language skills through an internationally recognized diploma.

Suited for: teenagers

This diploma is reserved for children ages 12 and above and is identical to the standard DELF diploma.

Alliance Française Toronto is the only exam centre for the DELF Junior exam. There are other centres in Alberta and Nova Scotia for the DELF Scolaire, which is the same exam as the DELF Junior but is directly administered at school.

The DELF Junior is composed of four individual diplomas that correspond with the four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).

Each exam is different from one another and candidates can register for the exam of their choosing. Each exam evaluates four communication skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking.

The junior version of the DELF exam has the same structure as the standard DELF exam. The only difference is the topics: they take into account the interests of a young candidate.

An average grade of 50 out of 100 points for each part of the exam is required to obtain the DELF A1, A2, B1, and B2 diplomas.

For more information about each level of this diploma, visit FEI website (France Education International) or download the brochure.
