A concert full of freshness and liveliness

Friday December 6, 2019 at 10am and 1pm

For ages 10 and up.

60 minutes

Continuing their long artistic partnership, French cellist Juliette Herlin and Canadian pianist Kevin Ahfat join together to illuminate the diversity and infinite colour of French music at the turn of the 20th century, music that represents a certain liberation of ideas while retaining a simplicity of expression. This carefully crafted program draws its inspiration from the highlight of the evening: the Canadian Premiere of the Third Sonata for Cello & Piano by Camille Saint-Saëns, a fresh and buoyant work by the quintessential 19thcentury French polymath who was known for his elegance, high polish and absolute mastery of form and line.

Musicians : Juliette Herlin (cello) and Kevin Ahfat (piano)
