Camps for 5-6 y.o.

Our immersion camps give your child an extraordinary experience in a French-speaking environment and improve his / her linguistic abilities through a variety of activities.

Each camp program includes language activities and fun practices in French.

Our immersion camps are offered either online or at Alliance Française Toronto cultural center.

 

 

Register

Kids will explore colours through a series of artistic science experiments that will allow them to discover the properties of colours, by mixing them and separating them as well as combining them into creative pieces of art.

 

8:30 AM - 9:15 AM     Language Activities: The world of shapes, forms and colours.
9:30 AM - 10:15 AM     Workshop: Science, art and colours. Provided by Explorum
     

 

Online activities. An adult is required during the activity.

The Zoom link and list of material will be provided 3 days prior to the start of the program. Alternate materials will be suggested upon demand if possible, to ensure that all kids can carry out the workshops.

Camps for 7-9 y.o.

Our immersion camps give your child an extraordinary experience in a French-speaking environment and improve his / her linguistic abilities through a variety of activities.

Each camp program includes language activities and fun practices in French.

Our immersion camps are offered either online or at Alliance Française Toronto cultural center.

Young explorers will enjoy a week of fusion activities… A little bit of science, some art and just enough creativity for a fun, yet educational week!

Register

The virtual coding sessions are provided remotely by a French-speaking teacher and supervised locally by an AFT staff member.
Campers can learn to design interactive games using Scratch, an easy to learn block-based visual coding language developed by MIT lab. This workshop will introduce participants to coding by teaching the foundations of programming.

 

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM     Language activities: The activities have been designed and selected by FSL professionals so that each participant can enjoy them according to their age and their French language skills
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM     Coding Camp: Game Design with Scratch in partnership with Code With Us
     

 

Location: Alliance Française Spadina Cultural center

Technology Requirement:

  • Laptop, with microphone and speaker (camera is optional).
  • Mouse for efficient browsing.
  • Updated web browser (Example; Chrome, FireFox, or Safari).
  • Headphones are recommended

Participants are invited to come with their computer:

Program Objectives:

  • Design and code interactive stories, games and animation.
  • Develop understanding of algorithms, nested loops, while loops, conditions, and events.
  • Learn variables, data types and properties.
  • Develop functions to organize and reuse code.
  • Learn the importance of critical thinking in programming.

Soft Skill Development:

  • Boost academic motivation.
  • Develop problem-solving skills.
  • Learn teamwork and collaboration.
  • Establish critical thinking.

Group Size: 6-8 participants

Level: Intermediate

Camps for 10-11 y.o.

Our immersion camps give your child an extraordinary experience in a French-speaking environment and improve his / her linguistic abilities through a variety of activities.

Each camp program includes language activities and fun practices in French.

Our immersion camps are offered either online or at Alliance Française Toronto cultural center.

 

 

Register

A week of initiation to basic crochet, sewing and embroidery stitches: single chain, double or treble stitch as well as cross stitch, button sewing or hemming to create an item of their choice such as a toy, a bag, a scarf, a doyley etc. depending on their interest and ambition. They will then be encouraged to decorate their item using a second technique.
