We offer a wide range of learning options: group courses, private courses, online learning and courses at your workplace or at your home.

Our course calendar covers a large timetable: we’re available when you are, 7 days a week.

With en/about-us/contact-us, we offer the convenience of a French-language school near you, whether you live in Toronto, North York, Mississauga, Markham, or Oakville. Online courses are also available.

Finally, we offer specialized courses (grammar, conversation) for teenagers and adults at both the intermediate and the advanced level. These classes let students focus on specific skills.

French courses for all ages and levels

We offer a wide range of courses, including to toddlers from the age of 9 months (our French discovery workshop for babies) and to preschoolers.

We also offer courses organized by level (beginner, intermediate) for children ages 5 to 6, youth from 7 to 10 and teens.

Our program of French courses for adults is divided into 30 levels to meet the needs of all students, whether they are beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Before registering, all new non-beginner students are invited to meet with a teacher and take a 15-minute oral placement test. This assessment guarantees your registration at an appropriate level. This test is not required for complete beginners.

The premier school for learning French

Established in Toronto in 1902, Alliance Française Toronto is recognized for its expertise in teaching French as a second language--the result of more than a century of excellence in teaching French to all ages.

An ideal and inspiring environment for learning French

We take our students’ success to heart. This is why our classes are organized for just 5 to 12 participants. These small-group classes ensure steady progress for all students, in a dynamic and fun environment. Students enjoy an ideal setting in which to interact in French and ask their teacher questions.

Furthermore, our French courses are based on the four language competencies (speaking, listening, reading and writing). Building these foundational skills ensures that students can communicate right from the beginner level, both orally and in writing.

Our expertise in the French language is recognized around the world

With more than 800 learning centres worldwide, Alliance Française schools offer a unique approach to teaching French and exploring francophone cultures.

Certified teachers lead all our classes. They follow the international standard of reference for language learning: the Common European Framework for Languages, or CEFR. Other prestigious language schools, such as The British Council, The Goethe Institute and The Instituto Cervantes, use the same standard.

The only official exam center in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)

Alliance Française Toronto is the only official French teaching centre in the GTA, offering French examination sessions (DELF, DALF, TEF/TCF…) at both their North York and Mississauga campuses.

Specialized teachers are available to help students prepare for their exams (French language tests, French international diplomas).
