In the wake of the deadly terrorist attack at the Charlie Hebdo newsroom, Alliance Française Toronto keeps on sympathizing with the French national solidarity movement in tribute to the victims and their relatives and offers you to join its team on the occasion of the following events:
- Thursday, January 8, 2015 has been declared National Day of Mourning by French President François Hollande. The French and European flags will be put at half-mast for 3 days.
At 7pm, Olivier Malvoisin’s documentary “No laughing matter” which revisits a number of incidents around cartoons that have made world headlines in recent years and asks the question of the freedom of expression today will be screened at the Spadina Theatre in partnership with the Consulate General of France in Toronto and with the support of ARTE. It will be followed by a gathering in Pierre Léon Gallery at 8pm.
- Friday, January 9, 2015 Jacques Israelievitch’s ISA Trio concert “Paris 1900” will also be devoted to the victims of the shooting.
