For decades, scientists have shown that regular sugar overconsumption seriously damages health, including the development of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity. But these data have remained in the shadow of the general public. In recent years, however, new studies have been done and came up with the same conclusions. And the sugar industry now has a hard time passing these results in silence. The time for transparency has come. Through the history of sugar, Catherine Lefebvre invites us to become aware of the omnipresence of sugar in the food supply, but also of its environmental and human impact.
