Online French courses
As a worldwide network of more than 800 learning centers, the Alliance Française Toronto has acquired significant international expertise in the online teaching of French as a second language.
Our Canadian location has developed customized tools to provide kids, teens, and adults with a dynamic online learning experience.
Are you or is your child a new student?
Be sure to arrange a French assessment and a placement test for you or your child (if 5+ y.o.) before registering in a course.
If you or your child are a beginner, register now in a French course for beginners or contact the campus nearest you.
General French courses
Online group courses are taught by teachers with dual skill sets: teaching French as a second language plus distance education. Group classes are limited to 8 students.
Online courses immediately activate your new language abilities through practice with other students and through multimedia tools (audio/video, role-play in small groups...). Homework is required between classes.
At the end of each level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced), you can certify your skills by taking an International French language diploma (DELF or DALF) exam. Test sessions are organized in our North York or Mississauga exam centres.
Private online courses
Our private online French courses are dedicated to teens (ages 7 and up), teens and adults, to meet both personal and professional goals. These courses are the most flexible option for students with a busy timetable or who live far from our campuses.
Your private courses are entirely customized. In consultation with you, your instructor will adapt the course content, timetable and pace to your specific needs.
Regardless of where you live, we offer all students registered in our online courses access to multiple resources for practising French as a second language. Thus, you can enjoy practising your favourite second language with Culturethèque, our multimedia online library, or with Frantastique, our mobile app.
This digital platform offers over 200 000 resources you can download or enjoy online: masterpieces of French literature, French newspapers, online concerts and shows, lectures, documentaries, youth literature, comics, games…
Free for our students, Culturethèque is available 24/7 and accessible from your PC, tablet or mobile phone.
Be the hero (with Victor Hugo!) of a fun story. Each day you'll receive a new personalized lesson with written, audio and video content. If you enjoy learning through games, this is the experience for you!
Every episode includes 10 minutes of daily practice to help you make progress in French.
