Event Description
A Celebration of Senegalese Music
Born into a griot lineage in Senegal, Zale Seck carries a role far beyond music: he is a historian, storyteller, and keeper of collective memory. A master drummer, singer, guitarist and dancer, he has been recognized as one of the most influential and compelling voices of the Senegalese musical scene since the 1980s. His sound seamlessly blends Afrobeat, Senegalese rumba, jazz, funk and blues into a rich sonic tapestry that brings the living soul of his homeland to the world from his base in Montreal, all delivered with an irresistible charisma.
